Janice Shepherd Hilton
June 8, 1930 - October 22, 2009
Janice Shepherd Hilton 6/8/1930 ~ 10/22/2009 Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Janice Shepherd Hilton, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on October 22, 2009.Janice was born June 8, 1930 in Murray, UT to William Leroy and Myrtle Irene Berg Shepherd. She graduated from Murray High School in 1948. She later married the love of her life, Lee Earl Hilton, on August 23, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved being at home caring for and nurturing her family. Later in life, she went to work for Cummings Studio Chocolates to continue her passion for making candy. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Lee Earl Hilton; four children: Annette (Brad) Bush, Kevin Hilton, Brent (Shelli) Hilton, Natalie Hilton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grand-children. She is also survived by her twin sister, Joyce Downward; and brothers, Kenneth and Shirl Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Gunnard Anderson; her sisters, Beverly Daw, Luana Shepherd and Marilyn Henline; and her brothers, Donald, Brent, Obie and Clinton Anderson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Murray 25th Ward, 363 E. Vine Street. Friends and family may pay their last respects Monday, October 26th from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and Tuesday morning at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. We wish to thank the many wonderful friends, neighbors, and family members who have given such loving service to Janice and her family. We would also like to express our gratitude to our friends, Evan and Rebecca, and the other staff members of Hearts for Hospice who lovingly provided care for her in the final months of her life.
